For in the Market-place, one Dusk of Day,
I watch'd the Potter thumping his wet Clay,
And with its all obliterated Tongue
It murmur'd--"Gently, Brother, gently, pray!"
Persian poet Omar Khayyam
(1120 A.C.E)

And my love affair with clay...

It started 30 years ago when I was a second year dental student at Guy's and tried out an evening class in pottery, from that point on it became a passion and a weekly retreat for some down time from the rigorous dental training. After graduation and establishing my professional dental career I have now found the space to re-connect with this most primal and versatile material ever known to mankind. My current theme of work is inspired by ancient Persian pottery from the early part of the first millennium BC.
It has been the most rewarding journey that continues to further deepen my understanding of my ancestral roots.
